Worst Class Ever Guide

How Worst Class Ever works: rules, roles and how you win

Updated · Basics

Quick answer

Worst Class Ever is an asymmetric party game: one Teacher (more in custom rooms at launch) versus up to 5 Troublemakers who hide among dozens of NPC classmates. Students win by filling the shared Mischief Points bar with pranks — snacking, passing notes, phone games — before the teacher catches every real player. The teacher wins by catching them all first. The teacher runs on Stamina: writing on the blackboard restores it, chasing and tying students up drains it.

The two sides

Teacher Students (Troublemakers)
How many 1 in the demo; the host can set more at launch Up to 5 real players, hidden among dozens of NPC classmates
Goal Catch every real player before the bar fills Fill the shared Mischief Points bar
Resource Stamina — chalk, chasing and tying students up cost it; the blackboard restores it Items from desk drawers, snacks, the back door
Main tool Chalk (long range, fast, stuns on hit) plus the camera, radar and flashlight Smoke bomb, flashbang, tranquilizer gun, ink, gum, banana peel — see items

Players see the room from first person. Everyone starts as a student model; the teacher is assigned when class begins.

What earns Mischief Points

Every prank adds to one shared bar for the whole student team:

Rescuing a tied-up teammate does not add points — players asked for that in the forum, which tells you it isn’t there yet.

Dynamic balance

Demo 0.1.9 (Oct 19) made the thresholds move with the lobby size: fewer students → fewer points needed to win; more students → the teacher recovers Stamina on each catch; item spawn rates scale with the student count. So a 3-player room and an 8-player room don’t play by the same numbers, and the developer hasn’t published the numbers.

How a round ends

  1. The bar fills → students win.
  2. All real students are caught and tied to the pillars → teacher wins.
  3. The bell rings → the round is scored on where things stand (Chinese press coverage; the exact timer isn’t published).

What the November 10 build adds

Up to 8 players, a female homeroom teacher, up to 10 classroom themes, custom rooms with about 20 settings (player count, number of teachers, item spawn rates…), more prank items and LAN play. Names and numbers for the new content weren’t published before launch; see demo vs full game.

FAQ

How many players is Worst Class Ever?

The demo ran 1–6 players (1 teacher + up to 5 students; players reported a match starts at 3). The November 10 release raises the cap to 8 per match and lets the host set the number of teachers.

How do students win?

By filling the shared Mischief Points bar before every real student is caught. Snacking, passing notes, using the phone and — since Demo 0.1.7 — hitting the teacher with a balloon all add points.

How does the teacher win?

Catch all the real players before the bar fills. NPC classmates look like players, so the teacher has to spot behaviour, not uniforms.

What is Stamina?

The teacher's resource. Leaving the podium and tying up students drain it; writing on the blackboard restores it. Since the Oct 21 update every capture also refunds some Stamina (Teacher's Rage). Run out and the teacher collapses.

How long is a round?

The developer hasn't published a number. One aggregator lists 10-minute rounds, but we couldn't confirm it from an official source. A round ends when the bell rings or one side wins.

Is there a solo mode?

No. It's online (public rooms, Steam friend invites) or LAN at launch. You need other people.
